This artwork represents the characteristic of being ‘grateful’.
Everyday we find ways of being grateful for things we have, and most importantly the people around us. For a very long time, we practised gratefulness- talking often about what we were grateful for. It is now, I am glad to say, mostly automatic with my children. They will notice the time they have that is special, the relationships they’ve formed that are important to them and the special things they have- and most of the time, they vocalise it.
From the morning sun in the sky, to the relationships we have. From the earth we are blessed to walk on to the stars above us at night- there is so much to be grateful for- you just have to notice.
This artwork is part of the ‘Yindyamarra’ release. It was painted intuitively, reflecting upon my role as a mother and the characteristics I hope to pass onto my children, instilling a range of values and behaviours that will set them in good stead for now and the future.
