This artwork represents the characteristic of being ‘curious’.
As a teacher, one of the most important notions in learning is curiosity. To truly learn, you must be curious about things- you must want to know more.
As a mother, I love watching my children, particularly my youngest daughter, being curious- discovering new things, working out how things ‘go’, learning through play. This piece was painted to reflect bubbles, as it is so often that as parents we watch our little ones as they discover bubbles, and the curiosity this ignites, is exciting even for the grown ups.
This artwork is part of the ‘Yindyamarra’ release. It was painted intuitively, reflecting upon my role as a mother and the characteristics I hope to pass onto my children, instilling a range of values and behaviours that will set them in good stead for now and the future.
