This artwork represents the characteristic of being ‘confident’.
As sure as the kangaroo heads off on his travel, one must move confidently through their life in order to be able to experience things that they otherwise wouldn’t get to.
As a child, I remember doubting myself often, not having the confidence to do things, and not being sure that I could. It was with the encouragement of the adults around me that I felt supported to at least ‘give it a go’.
I pass this confidence on to my children, encouraging them to ‘just try’.
This artwork is part of the ‘Yindyamarra’ release. It was painted intuitively, reflecting upon my role as a mother and the characteristics I hope to pass onto my children, instilling a range of values and behaviours that will set them in good stead for now and the future.
